Abstract
The novel "Cemmin" is a biography of the coastal people of Kerala. During the Sangam period the people of the weaving land were considered to belong to the fishing community. From that time to the present day, the fishing families living along the coast have changed their way of life despite the change of time. Cemmin is a novel written in the nineteenth century. These included small reddish slums along the Kerala coast at the time. The mothers lived with the sea as their mother. Women lived in such a way that if they failed in their morals, their husbands' lives would be in danger. Their business is based on fishing, retailer and wholesaler. The leader of the mothers is referred to as Arriyan. All events take place in His presence. This article sets out to illustrate the living conditions of mothers in this way.
