Abstract
Dr. M. Varadarasanar's role in the development of the Tamil language in the twentieth century is outstanding. He started as a government official and rose to become a university vice-chancellor and became a socially conscious writer. He has written many books in various fields like criticism, prose, linguistics, and novel. He has written about thirteen novels in the way of solving many social problems. Dr. Mu.va. creates the scenes they see every day with a sense of literature in their works, so the social background is the basis for the creation. Man does not have the nature to live alone. He lives with many people. A group of people living together in a particular place is called a community. The creator is a member of the community. His work is supported by a distinguished community. The success or failure of modern literature is determined by the social impact it has. Therefore, we can know from the works of Mu.Va. that society and literature are interdependent
