Abstract
The period of Sangam literature was preceded by the Natrinai period, the first literary work compiled. It is a book that combines literary richness with grammatical richness. The parables in the narrative add beauty to the songs in abundance and detail. This thesis is intended to explain how the parable, which is composed of numbers and details, makes sense in the poems. The tendency to compare one thing with another is a natural characteristic of all human beings. The operation of this mindset can be explained at various levels. In terms of grammar, simile, the construction of simile, and allegory are parts that reflect the comparative attitude. In this, Tolkappiyar's thoughts on similes and the way in which the Natrinaipulavars have used the metaphor are explained in this article. This article is also a precursor to later grammatical studies.
