Abstract

Women inherently are considered to be more compassionate than being haughty or autocratical. They would go to the extent of forsaking their wishes, in case they cause any inconvenience to others. The three important female characters in kambaramayana ie. kaikeyi, mandharai and soopanagai respectively would tell otherwise. These characters are automatic, unlike the stereotypical female characters. This research paper would study the power and competence of the three female characters (Kaikeyi, Mandharai and soorpanagai) with reference to the plotline of kambaramayanam.
