Abstract

Valluvar who talks about the virtues of love says that women are important to give pleasure to men and for love making. He describes the love life of a couple and the love the boy has over the girl. The girl worries that the boy may forget her and she even forgets to put eyeliner which is one of her daily routine. She even avoids taking hot food with the notion that the memories of her lover are in her heart and taking hot food may hurt the memories. This shows how a woman of ancient period makes love. Valluvar who clearly describes the love life of the ancients compares the kiss, symbol of love to the mixture of honey and milk. Through this article a reader can understand love life of ancient period and in those times, women are important to men who give pleasure and happiness to men.
