Abstract

Tolkappiyam as Niraimozhimanthar and Manimegalai as Nilam Thottupukaarvanam. Devaram mentions those who worship God as devotees, and those who know worship God in Yoga as Siddhas. Deivanayaka's comments that education is not paranoia, realizing the true state of the world is the real paranoia. Siddhas are those who have overcome the triads of arrogance, and vanity by oneness that subdues the five senses namely mouth, eyes, nose, touch and ears. The great powers attained by them are called Atamasithu. There were eighteen Siddhas in Tamil Nadu. Thirumantram composed by Thirumoolar and Thirutondarpuranam composed by Sekizhar tells about the the history of Siddhas. Tirumantram is a book that is praised as Paththaam Thirumarai. This article brings out the philosophical principles found in these books to study diverse issues. The Tamil dictionary defines the word theory as 'adjustment', 'consistency', 'condition'. All these are explained in this article through Thirumoolar’s medical principles. Hippocrates is regarded as the father of medicine. His medical principles are also explained in this article. Thirumoolar’s specialty and his principles are also explained.
