Abstract

Writer S. Dharman is an innovative short story writer from Tamil Nadu who has written 13 books till 2022. All his works related to literary thought and the development of Tamil language are based on the concept of the people of Karisal soil which is so realistic. S. Dharman's characters in his works are the natives of Karisal soil. At the same time, slogans are not loud in any of his stories. His concern, compassion and warmth towards the Karisal soil and Karisal land people are revealed in his short stories. None of his short stories are affected by any modernist 'isms'. He chooses the plot from his own life. His specialty is that he does not let any traces of his own life problems or mood fall on his writings.
