Abstract

The first epic in Tamil language is Silapathikaram. This is a very great epic praised by many writers. The author Ilangovadiyar has created the plot of this story as a story not only about the king but also about the citizens and the lifestyle of the citizens. This epic briefly explains about the life style of the people, art, about nature and all that news related to life in Tamil language. The story of the text is based on the idea that everyone from king to common citizens all are equal. Overall the article clearly explains about the language and life in Silapathikaraam.
