Abstract

This article explores the relationship between the origin of language and the origin of the society in which the language operates and reveals the relationship between language and humans. Language plays an important role in social interaction. Change and development in a language and socio-economic changes affect language. Language also contributes to the economic factors that underpin society. The place of language in a society can be traced by tracing the changes it has undergone from prehistoric times to modern times. In every societies change takes place and nothing is table in a society. If the society doesn’t change it will perish very shortly. In the same way, the language used in the community should also adapt and grow. Otherwise there cannot be a language. Many countries like China which are self-proclaimed in economic activities gives more importance to their mother tongue. In Tamil Nadu except communication sector Tamil language plays a special role in economic activities in all sectors. This article tries to prove that when mother tongue education is given importance, Tamil language also will be recognised all over the world.
