Abstract
Beliefs in the deity are associated with human life. As an expression of that belief, the methods of worshipping these deities have evolved and have been practiced for ages; hence, they have acquired the name and respect of worship traditions. These can be identified in most of the Tamil literature. As far as Tamil literature is concerned, from the first available book, Tolkappiyam, one can identify the thoughts of the deity and the records of worship. It is worth considering that Tolkappiyar refers to the deity as the primary object in the theme. In the years that followed, it can be seen that thoughts about the deity have increased. In this way, this article deals with the deities and traditions of worship recorded in the novels of Vela Ramamoorthy.
