Overall this article explains about the reason for the name of the town called Sulakarai, which is the second largest panchayat in Aruppukkottai Union. The most famous temple in Sulakarai is the Veeraperumal temple. People who worship this deity often name their children as Veeraperumal. This article explains in detail how this deity appeared as a clan deity in this town, who built a temple for this deity, how people worship this deity, and the methods of worship that are conducted for this deity.
