Abstract

From ancient times to the present day, the worship traditions of the Tamils form evidence to reveal the nature of the period. From nature worship to the worship of a variety of religions, they have had a great impact on human beings and the living beings in the world in their lives. The traditions of Tamil worship originated in the prehistoric period. An extension of nature worship is still seen in Tamil worship. An example of this is the ancient Tamil festival of 'Pongal' worship. Tamils are followers of different religions. In that sense, this article focuses on the elements that protect and maintain the environment in orthodox times and explains their role.
