Abstract
Ramalinga Vallalar was a great man who showed a unique path in spirituality. In the early years, he was a Hindu fanatic, later a Saivite, and finally rose up against idolatry and guided the worship of light. He opposes caste, religion, gotra, etc. He presents progressive ideas. His comments also attract father Periyar, who was a rationalist campaigner. This article examines the compatibility of vallalar's ideas and father Periyar's ideas and vallalar's reformist ideas.
