Abstract
Humanity's reason for deification is the fear and love of mankind. Early human beings were afraid of natural disasters such as fire, thunder, rain, etc. They were worshiped as gods because of the fear they hand on those natural disasters. Minor deity worship is a major part of Tamil Nadu culture. This kind of worship was followed by the people from the earliest times. At a certain period the stories about the minor deity appearing next to the big deity became more and more numerous. The worship of 'one deity' then multiplied into two or three deities. The deities keep changing according to the people living in the society. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to explain the cultural records related to idol worship.
