Abstract

The early twentieth century saw many changes in Indian society. If we examine what was the background of these developments, we can mention the literature, movements, parties etc. that arose during that time. Magazines played an important role in the literature of the period. Many thinkers instilled national liberation thought and emotion to those who were trapped as slaves to the British who were free and taking them. Through it they also restored their culture. How the Congress took shape and grew from 1900 to 1925. Although the Congress party originated in the late nineteenth century, it can be said that it developed in the early twentieth century. Its development is the cultural elements of Tamils. Culture has its own country, language and race. After the arrival of other nationalities all these changed or changed. During the British rule they imposed their culture on us. Unable to accept this, the Tamil thinkers started a protest. Some of them struggled with thoughts. That is, they believed that the exchange of ideas would go into the brain of every man and build him. Congress thinkers took hold of that cultural structure. They made them fight for their way of thinking without giving up their patriotism and language. For that they rejected foreign goods. They also established trade unions to implement it. They used magazines and many pamphlets as the main source for this. Their aim was to bring the language of the Tamil to Tamil. The Congress thinkers fought for the liberation of the nation by knocking down the oppression of the British one by one and saving the rights of their country. Many thinkers worked together for this. E.V.Rramasamy, G.Subramaniaiyar, V.U.Chitambaranar, Bharatiyar, and C.Vijayaraghavachariar etc. raised the Congress. This will discuss how these Tamil thinkers stimulated the thoughts of the masses for the development of Congress.
