Abstract
Sculpture is one of the traditional arts of Tamils. Arts are a cultural sign of human civilization. Apart from that, all our art forms have a long history. Sculptures can be seen everywhere like the floor, wall, pillars, plane, tower etc. of the temple building. There are no temples without sculptures. We can cite the sculptures and pictorial art forms of Tiruvattar temple as evidence that our forefathers built temples for deity worship as art galleries.
