Abstract
Tholkappiyam is one of the greatest grammar books from ancient times to the present day. Tholkappiyar was the author of Tholkappiyam. The Tolkappiyam describes the five types of grammar in great detail. The third of these is Porulathikaram. It is designed to reflect the inner and outer lives of the people. Porulathikaram is something that cannot be found in any other languages and literature, and is the literature of life. The section on theft and chastity best describes the inner life of the Hero and the Heroine. In the Sangam literary work, the Kurunthogai songs, there are plenty of elements of the Agattinai of Tholkappiyar.
