Abstract
Migrant literature is a genre of literature that needs to be taken into consideration in the context of Tamil literature. People who lost their identity due to some reason and went to another country expressed their sorrows through their works. At an early stage such works were dismissed as lament literature by the literati. Today the content of such literature, the plight of migrants and their sentiments are being subtly explored. Unable to accept cultural change and living in a natural environment completely different from the natural environment in which they lived, their plight was affected mentally and physically, and it seems that it created a great resonance in the world literary environment. As far as Tamils are concerned, the people who have gone to different countries from Sri Lanka are Tamils who have migrated. Through their works, they present many problems that Tamils have never faced before. A creator reflects the problems of the society in which he lives through his works. But when immigrants look at the creations, the society they live in becomes a problem for them. This article describes how they recorded the changes in their lives and the problems they face when they break away from the traditional Tamil culture and enter into another country's culture.
