Abstract

Karaikal Ammaiyar is revered as the thirtieth Nayanmar among the 63 Nayanmars in Periyapurana. It is a great myth that proudly presents the unique Tamil cultural spiritual thoughts without borrowing from other language stories. There are 4286 Vridtappas in Periyapuranam. Among them Karaikalammaiyar Puranam 1717-1782 is composed of 75 songs. In these songs gets to know the complete Purana of Karaikal Ammaiyar. and the purpose of this article is to explain the facts along with the story in the life of Karaikal Ammaiyar.
