Abstract

In today's rapidly growing world, the basic needs of humans such as food, clothing and shelter are undergoing major changes. Due to this change, many unknown diseases occur in humans and they suffer from poor health. Food is the basic need of all living things. The feeling of hunger is called pini. We eat many types of food to satisfy such hunger. Thus the food eaten varies from season to season. The Sangha period was one of the periods that underwent such changes. In today's time, we eat different types of fast food and get diseases. In this case, the purpose of this article is to try to know what kind of food our forefathers Tamils ate. Our Sangha literatures are the sources to know that. and methods in the life of Sangam people. Sangha literature, which is a mirror to show their morals, is the study of this article. This article deals with the news about nutrition as recorded in the Sangam literatures, Ettupaat and Patupat.
