Man has become mechanical in this industrial world. He is a slave taste. Man has distanced himself from the natural food and has got addicted to ‘fast food’. The needs of a man change from time to time. Right from the preparation food and till its consumption there are a lot of differences from individual to society. Fast food become a killer. The wrong food habit develops diseases and they in turn cause death. Therefore we need to very cautions with regard to food. The correct good food habit is to eat the vegetables, fruits and grains that are available at the seasons on earth. Man changes his choice of food only when he falls ill. Of all the food habits in India, the food habit of Tamils is considered to be the best. It contains sweet, sour, astringent, hot, salt and bitter tastes. This research is based on the concept of Saint Thiruvalluvar ‘Foot, the medicine’. (Thirukkural ch.95). Based on this, the descriptions of Sidhars is also taken for the research. If the seven different physical part zones of our body function well we call that man as ‘healthy’. One of the zones is digestive system. The intake of food is responsible for one’s character too.
