Abstract

The message of hospitality in Sangam literature is a rare gooseberry given by Adhiyaman to Avvai. This is called first food donation or hospitality. Avvaiyar's song of Avvaiyar who got gooseberry, Holding a sword in the mouth Kalampatak Kazhal thozhak Thadakkai (Purananooru, 91) this can be seen from the song. Our Sangam literature contains information about "charity". The food donation of our Tamils is innumerable. In the ancient Tamil way of life, the word hospitality can also be called food gift. The topic of the article I have taken up here is about the food donation.
