Abstract

Food is the first basic human need. As the people outside the country understood the art of plowing, rice, corn and gram became their food. The Tamil people of the Sangha period considered feasting as a great virtue. Palandamizhar dish featured mango pickle. Sangam literature contains references to pepper, ghee, tamarind, spinach, meat, and gourd. The people of the Marut land ate fried chicken with paddy rice. Food of Sangam Tamils: Rice, porridge, porridge, milk, buttermilk, nuts, fruits, meat, fish, garuvadu, young water, padaneer, sugarcane juice, curd, rice, rice, pudding, appam are the food items that Sangam Tamils ​​like to eat.
