Abstract

Poetry has a special place in world literature. The traditional poems that were included in the yappu today flourish in many forms with the Yappukkattutaipputan. After the change in literature due to the arrival of the British, Bharati developed new poetry, and Bharati's successors also gave different forms to new poetry and took poetry to the next dimension. Yappu is necessary for traditional poetry and the taste and imagination of the poet are sufficient for new poetry. The forms of Pudukavitha are written today with various forms such as Kaikku(tuḷippa), limaraikku (iyaiput tuḷippa), haipun, kuraṭku, cirkku, kasal. In order to make the poet's ideas understandable to the readers, they compose with many techniques such as imagination, simile, metaphor, allegory, symbolism, irony, and myth. In Erode Tamilanpanin vanakkam valluva Poem, he composed with techniques such as imagination, description, allusion and simile. The poet's view about Valluvam can be found in this article.
