Abstract

Jatai Mariamman appears as a powerful deity in people’s mind. Jatai Mariamman is worshiped throughout the year and they do festival once in a year. People from different villages comes to the festival and offer prayers to the goddess. When their prayers are fulfilled, they perform alms-punching, pulls a cart with a string on their back, sacrifices goats and hens, offering food and so on. Finally, in evenings and nights, people gather their relatives from different towns and sit together to watch street music concerts and videos.
