Abstract
Although it is said that time has passed since poetry flourished in Tamil literature, it can be seen from the poets who continue to travel along the path of poetry that even today there is a special place for poetry. In the collection of poems written by the poet Thamizhachi Thangapandian called Vanapechi, one finds how nature is made the theme of her poems and gives them life. To show the widening distance between human beings and nature, she has composed poems on the natural environment she encountered in her childhood. In each poem, she uses natural objects for illustration. In her poems, natural objects become the subject of talk, even when mental longings and cravings are uttered and expressed from layers of memory. Human beings who had made it their nature to love nature began to attack nature in course of time as minds to free themselves from nature. As a result, natural calamities occurred. Even today, human beings are in love with nature and struggle to save them. This article states that Thamizhachi refers to the emotions and messages expressed in the poems and connects them with living natural objects.
