Abstract

The world operates on the basis of people’s likes and dislikes towards one another. This study shows that the greatness of family relations, which has been seen in Tamil literature since time immemorial, is reflected in contemporary works as well. It is because of the richness of relationships that achievements have taken place. The study highlights the mental struggle of family relationships, the maturity to give up their interests for others, and the self-search of young people who struggle with the confidence that they have to reach a higher position in society. In the novels, Thalaikil Vikithangal (Inverted Ratios), Chathuranga Kuthirai (Chess Horse), and Enpilathanai Veyil Kaayum (sun's fierce ray dries up), the youth's ability to strive to uplift the family is highlighted. This study suggests that it is also necessary to maintain relationships in the struggle for life and in the pursuit of knowledge.
