Abstract
The literature of the Sangam period is structured in such a way that it depicts the lifestyles and activities of the people, or all literature is set up in such a way. As an example, this research paper describes the motherhood of two mothers: one, the birth mother, and the other, the foster mother. It portrays their motherhood. A woman who grows up under the care of a foster mother falls in love with a man she meets due to her age, puberty, or the evolution of chastity. She is secretly developing it without the knowledge of her two mothers. In the final state of the love affair, with the consent of the foster mother, she elopes with her man. The foster mother told this to the birth mother and said, "What her daughter has done is not wrong. She calms down the birth mother by saying that it happened at the instigation of her daughter’s lover only. The aim of this article is to show that the daughter of the birth mother, who was disheartened or heartbroken at the thought of her daughter's behaviour without following social restrictions such as nurturing secret love and chastity, accepted her daughter and her man generously with mother’s heart.
