Abstract
In today's world, from the countries where science has developed to the villages where laymen live, everyone is afraid of God. It is a well-known fact that we are driven from within or outside by an invisible, formless force that we cannot understand or see. The early man gave it many forms and gave it many names, and he followed the methods of worship and rituals out of fear. Man has subjected himself and his dependents to a kind of ritual for all the things he feared and organized himself and his dependents through the instrument of faith. It was this unshakable faith that later led to the emergence of countless theological doctrines. Accordingly, the methods of worship of Mariamman, one of the most widely worshipped Goddesses in Tamil Nadu, and the beliefs found in them are discussed in this paper with relevant data.
