Abstract

Thoothu (Embassage) literature is one of the ninety-six kinds of literature in the minor literary genre. There are many books available in Tamil. Among them are Pala Pattatai Chokkanathar's Azhagar Killai Vidu Thoothu and the Tamil Vidu Thoothu, where the author's name is not known. Although there are two different ideas that deal with Saiva and Vaishnava’s religious ideas, the subject matter is contained in both books with the intention that both the women who are attracted to the Lord want to receive the garland of the Lord. There are pieces of information that in Azaghar Killaividu Thoothu, the five-sense parrot, and in Tamilvidu Thoothu, the Tamil language are said to be the messengers. This is a fantastic style written in the hero and heroine's voice. The manner in which the lady sending the parrot conveys all the qualities of the parrot, and the manner in which the lady sending the Tamil conveys all the characteristics of the Tamil language is remarkable. The purpose of this article is to examine from a comparative point of view the similarities recorded in the two books, such as the character of the men, the character of the women, the pride of God, the excellence of the message, the purpose of the message, the distress of the women, etc.
