Abstract
Inorder to know the literary traditions and principles of the ancient Tamil people Mutharporul, Uriporul and Karuporul must be placed. Naboothanar has explained well the theme of Mullai songs which is one among the Patuppattu text. Mullai song contains both internal and external meanings. Although it is believed that Pandiyan Nedunchezhiyan is the protagonist of the text but it is not officially mentioned in the text. Although Mullai songs are about both internal discipline and external discipline, it first gave importance to the internal discipline. Mullai songs contains Mutharporul, Uriporul and karuporul and this article particularly deals with Karuporul (themes).
