Abstract
It was the Green Revolution that made independent India self-sufficient in its food needs. However, due to the minimum reference price announced by the government for the small grains the farmers gave importance to paddy and wheat crops. The production of other small and minor grains has been greatly reduced due to the excessive attraction shown on it. And due to the monotonous cultivation of crops, the chemical pesticides and fertilizers used for high production have degraded the fertility of the soil and made it infertile. By eating food produced in this way, the human body becomes weak, disease occurs and the days of life are also reduced. Realizing this, the Indian government has been taking all the necessary efforts to regain human well-being for a few decades. The article is about the minor grains taken by ancient Tamil people, how they cultivated and ate it, and what were the benefits they attained by eating those grains.
