Abstract

Mudathama kanniyar, the composer of Porunaratrupadai, which is the second song in Patupattu. Through his songs it is clear that he is very skilled in music. Many people call him as a feminist poet. Because of the word 'mutam' is placed in front of his name, it is assumed that he is crippled. Mudathama kanniyar in his songs has described in detail about the ability of Karikal Peruvalathan, who was praised as the best among the kings to provide food, clothing and shelter for needy in the Porunaratrupadai. He gives food in the gold plate. This article explains the king's method of hospitality by first offering a snake shoulder strap and then providing food and a place to stay.
