Abstract

Our Tamil language is rich in virtues that are not found in other languages all around the world. It is special to acquire grammatical and literary resources to such an extent that it is even impossible to say with certainty the period of the Tamil language. Tamil language excels as an unrivaled language in all aspects like culture and art. Man is a part of society. so the language he speaks, food he eats, dress he wears, his lifestyle, work and thoughts reveal the culture of the society where he lives in. Every human society has a culture. The habits practiced by man in his life are usually formed by the change of time and this practice has become a culture over time. Thus culture created huan society and good human beings. "Culture cannot be seen" is the opinion of William Haviland. Culture has been defined by the Chancellor of Madras University as "the natural goodness of others". Culture is subjective. It has life-like energy. It has higher purpose. Culture flourished from the root word 'culture'. Culture means refinement. 'He who is called noble, is virtuous. To know the antiquity of the Tamil culture, the grammar book Tolkappiyam and the Sangha literature are very helpful. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to study the superiority of culture in Aatrupadai literature, which is half the size of Sangam literature.
