Abstract

Folk songs are songs sung by folk. Folk songs are intertwined with the life of the folk. Events from man's birth to death become the subject of folk song. Folk songs are the true expressions of the mind of the people. Folk songs are called folk song, nomadic song, natara song, oral song, layman song, family song, village song, kalladar song, people's song, Malaiaruvi, wild flowers, and so on. It will be useful to note the relevance of the names thus given. Lamentation Song is about the woman lamenting her loneliness and helplessness. The most unbearable loss for a woman in this world is the loss of her parents, her husband and her son, whom she depended on. When we examine the words which she utters we get to know about the psychological habits of the society when examining the words.
