Abstract

Kannappanayanar Puranam is the 16th Nayanmar out of 63 Nayanmars in Periyapuranam. Kannappa Nayanar Puranam is a repository of truth from the 650th to 830th of the total 4281 songs in Periyapuranam. Kannappa Nayanar Puranam is composed of 230 hymns. While introducing his country, Sekizhar proudly shows his country as a city full of good resources which is praised by all the poets. When Kannapar displays his military prowess and when he expresses his love for seeing the Lord on Kalathi Hill, the Marutkai truth of wonder is revealed. This article examines the nature of the truths mentioned by Tolkappiyar in these songs.Kannappanayanar Puranam
