Abstract
In the Vanniya drama, people's beliefs have a special place in many ways. This section shows that Vanniyar worship took root among the people. In the Vanniya drama, the beliefs of the people are highlighted and their greatness and worship are described in detail. Folklore is the culture of a particular people preserved in terms of beliefs and customs. Culture blossoms out of people's knowledge, beliefs, art, morality, law and custom. Customs and beliefs are based on the needs of the society. Beliefs and customs are the stepping stones of cultural development. Beliefs are thoughts that are beyond the level of knowledge. Beliefs are created by the people and protected by the society. Human selfishness and social consciousness have been the constant beliefs from time immemorial. In Kottavoor village, certain rituals, customs and beliefs are rooted among the people. This article explains how certain beliefs are still followed from generation to generation because the family will prosper.
