Abstract

Man lived in groups in forests and mountains.  He had to protect himself and his dependents.  In this way, the protector was elevated to the status of leader by the Society. The leader of the group developed a martial art through his experience.  That is why he taught Art to others in his free time, with the aim of benefiting his group as well as he benefited.  It was turned into a pastime and practiced by young and old alike.  This is art.  Since it helps everyone's life, it has been followed through many generations and has stood and prevailed among the people.  This art has evolved into a game.  From children to adults, in today's scenario, they are interested in sports such as cricket and volleyball on television.  Thus, the games that symbolize our culture are on the verge of extinction.  In this context, this research paper examines the traditional pallanguzhi Game played by women in Krishnagiri area.
