Abstract
It is natural for human society to continue to adhere to certain customs that existed with early humans, although they have improved over time. Each community thus has different customs. Death is a certainty in transitional human life. At the time of death, every community performs rituals for the peace of the soul of the deceased. The novel Koveru Kaluthaikal points out that such rituals are performed by protein dyes. Performing rituals such as announcing the news of death, tying the knot, lighting the lamp, bathing the corpse, lifting the oral pot, burying the corpse and performing the closing ceremony.
