Abstract
The Purpose of this study is to identify the Language registers of Karisal (Black Soil) region based on the novel written by R.S. Jacob. Descriptive and analytical methods are used to bring out peculiar usage of language expressions associated with the people, culture, and agro village life of this region as documented in this novel. This paper will help us understand the uniqueness of Karisal dialect and its archaic forms. It also reveals the importance of fictions in regional dialects.
